Mourinho's pre-season fears mount with Sanchez sidelined

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho blunt in his assessment of Raheem Sterling

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is said to be looking to add a few more attacking options to his squad, and is reportedly considering forking out £62 million (R1.07 billion) for a 2018 FIFA World Cup finalist.

The Daily Mail are citing a report from the Sun that claims United are lining-up a £92m double swoop for Perisic and Rebic following their heroics for Croatia at this summers World Cup finals.

Sanchez wasn't among the United squad heading across the Atlantic because there was an issue with his visa after the Chile forward accepted a 16-month suspended sentence in Spain over a tax issue.

"For Paul to go to the World Cup and to be world champion can only be fantastic", Mourinho said, as reported by MEN. He's awesome, he's fantastic.

"There is no-one to blame - the club is making an effort". I have to respect the USA authorities in their process and selection of visas.

Jose Mourinho looks on as Ander Herrera, Anthony Martial and Juan Mata get into their drills.

Donald Trump says Russian Federation has stopped meddling despite opposing USA intelligence

They will also play AC Milan, Liverpool and Real Madrid in the annual International Champions Cup tournament.

He is also set to miss the first game of the Premier League season against Leicester at Old Trafford on August 10.

He said: "First of all I want to say how proud I am to be a part of the Manchester United family". So I think the future for him in the French national team can only be brilliant. I hope that he understands why he was very good.

"The Premier League and broadcasters, they were not nice to us by giving us the Friday match [against Leicester]".

Spurs have been credited with an interest in Croatia star Ante Rebic, according to German publication Sport Bild, and whilst the Eintacht Frankfurt ace would be a welcome addition to Pochettino's squad, the Argentine might just be better served in making a move for his worldwide teammate Ivan Perisic instead.

"And I think it's a remarkable move".
