Republicans: Lisa Page a ‘far more credible’ witness than Peter Strzok

FBI Agent Peter Strzok Scorches GOP in Testimony Fit For Aaron Sorkin Script

We must speak with one voice in making clear to Vladimir Putin: "We will not allow you to interfere in our democratic processes or those of our allies".

Republicans have repeatedly attempted to throw Strzok's credibility into question, accusing him of harboring political bias during his work on Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigatory team from which he was sacked after the messages surfaced.

Text messages sent by Federal Bureau of Investigation agent Peter Strzok criticizing Donald Trump aren't proof of anything except Strzok's personal feelings - and, in committing them to writing on company equipment, his poor judgment.

McCullough said he "expected to be embraced and protected", but was instead "chided" by someone on Capitol Hill for failing to consider the "political consequences" of his investigative findings, Fox News reported. "In the summer of 2016, I was one of a handful of people who knew the details of Russian election interference and its possible connections with members of the Trump campaign", Strzok said. "I am specifically directing you to answer the question in response to our subpoena", Goodlatte said.

"At no time, in any of those texts, did those personal beliefs ever enter into the realm of any action I took", Strzok said.

Strzok called it "horrible and disgusting behaviour", and said he was stating his opinion the electorate would "stop" a candidate like that. "That is who we are as the Federal Bureau of Investigation".

"That is who we are as the FBI", Strzok said in an animated riff that drew Democratic applause.

But the officer continues to do nothing or even move closer to Irizzary as the man continues to approach her. She asks him to leave her alone and asks for an officer's help who is nearby but he does not intervene.

Rep. Mark Meadows tweeted on Thursday, "The notion that Peter Strzok deserves a "purple heart" is an insult to the honor, valor, and service of men and women who truly earned its recognition". He described the texts as "hate filled and biased". "At times my criticism was blunt, but despite how it has been characterized it was not limited to one person or one party".

"It was, in no way, unequivocally, any suggestion that me, the Federal Bureau of Investigation would take any action whatsoever to improperly impact the electoral process".

Democrats pounced on special counsel Robert S. Mueller III's indictment of a dozen Russian military officers for their efforts to interfere in the 2016 us election, with some saying Monday's Donald Trump-Vladimir Putin summit should be canceled. "But", he said, "the thought of exposing that information never crossed my mind". Strzok, a seasoned counterintelligence agent, helped lead both investigations but has since been reassigned to human resources.

The clip even caught the attention on Donald Trump Jr, who labeled Strzok, the former deputy assistant director for counterintelligence with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, "the creepiest person in America." .

"I hesitate in part because of my gut sense and concern there's no big there there", Strzok said in the text. "It taints the entire Mueller witch hunt".

Democrats said it was notable how much more subdued Friday's interview was compared with the charged environment during Thursday's public hearing with Strzok. But despite the generally complimentary mood toward Page, Republicans weren't feeling any warmer toward Strzok. But the report said it found no evidence of political bias in the FBI's decision not to pursue criminal charges against Clinton.

Republicans, on the other hand, peppered Strzok with questions and expressed outrage that's been building for months.
