Trae Young Has Had a Horrific Start to Summer League

Jazz wrap up local Summer League with win over Hawks

Atlanta Hawks rookie Trae Young left Sunday's NBA Summer League game against the Portland Trail Blazers with a right quad contusion, an injury he originally suffered in Saturday's game against the New York Knicks. One glimpse at a few possessions in a row will show that many of these players are not quite National Basketball Association level.

With Allen on defense, the Hawks guard tried to take a long two-pointer, but got tied up with Allen in the process. As Young rose to shoot, he and Allen hooked arms. On the way back up, hands aloft as if he were trying to end the play, Allen appeared to give Young a slight shoulder check.

Through the first few days of Summer League action, passion and competitive fire are about all Allen or Young have to show for themselves.

Leo Messi Wants Willian At Barcelona
Despite the news that Chelsea may be willing to let him switch from London to Manchester, there is a severe blockage that could hamper the deal.

Still, the combination wasn't enough to overcome 20 points and eight rebounds from Utah's Georges Niang, which figures to be a common theme for NY even if both play well during the regular season. Both players were given technical fouls, while Allen also received a personal foul for the initial contact.

Allen and Young were both called for technical fouls after almost fighting each other in the first half of the exhibition game. It's going to be a physical game.

Both players struggled from the field, with Allen shooting 2-for-13 and Young converting 3 of his 16 attempts.
